Having recently started my business, Get Set 4 Success, I recently attended the WINE event and found it a very worthwhile day, full of useful tips, ideas and much more. As an older woman who has always worked for other people, what I needed to get was the confidence that I could be self employed in my 50's. Doing the courses and meeting with a business adviser helped to give me this confidence. We have a clear vision of how our business should look, act, feel and

I would really recommend Business Link support to anyone thinking of starting a business. The training courses are all professionally run and helped me understand things like how to manage my money and how to market myself, before I wasted time or money doing the wrong thing. I also got excellent one to one support to help me move forward and the website is crammed full of information like how to write a business plan and tips on setting up a website. I've also met some really great business people - it's so good to know you're not on your own.

I have done several of the Business Link, Skills for Enterprise workshops, and they are full of very useful information for people who are starting up their own business. Each workshop covers a specific area of running your own business, starting with helping you to decide if self employment is for you, through to things like writing your business plan and financial planning. I would recommend that anyone wanting to start their own business tries the workshops for themselves.

We have met with our business advisor on two occasions now and without her guidance we would never be in the position that we are in to make the most of our business.
She has used various visual exercises to help us to understand how to build and work with a business plan and how to make the most out of the service that we will be providing. She enabled us to see the bigger picture and prioritise our work, demonstrating the importance of getting relevant paperwork into place and planning our budget.
One particular exercise that she used with us helped us to see the potential in our business. Closing your eyes and picturing your business exactly how you want it creates excitement and drive which are both essential for starting out. Our advisor's enthusiasm and encouragement has helped us to believe that our business can be a great success if we understand the basics.
We only hope that all business starters are aware of the help that is available to them. It has been fantastic for us to have such great advice and guidance at a time when we will probably most need it.

I attended the Business Buddies event yesterday at Highpoint Conference Centre. I have to say it was brilliant! Food was nice but guess what, I did not have time to nibble much as there were so many interesting businesses to network with. The short seminar was also good, although I have done several personal development seminars in the past, it was good to be reminded some stuff.
I would be very happy to attend another event again to meet business people. Thank you again for inviting me!

I found that the TAP 360° Reviews produce very good information about Managers and can be very positive in showing them areas for development. Our senior team of six Managers also found the whole experience very positive. The 360° process highlighted not only those areas they needed to improve but those areas in which they excelled. Positive feedback from colleagues was very motivating. Our individual confidence levels were boosted and it helped us identify key areas for information. At the outset 360° Reviews seemed a daunting task. I applaud the courage of my colleagues in agreeing to take part. We would definitely repeat the process. It's a great tool for team building, motivating people and was an asset in our re-accreditation for Investors in People.
